Now ....
Having turned that part-time passion into a full-time career as a singer songwriter and recording artist, Connie Kis tours solo and will also front house bands at social clubs and numerous festivals with the ease and talent that a only seasoned, professional performer brings.
Following her chosen purpose in life to this point in time however, wasn't exactly a smooth road.
Late in 2011, Connie Kis was diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer and so her career path took a detour while she set out to achieve her personal goal of surviving the challenges and treatment that come with this disease.
During that same time, she also found herself attending to the demands associated with caring for aged parents suffering from Alzheimer's and stroke.
Even though her music took a back seat during that very difficult period, she still managed to keep her profile active and release new works.
Along with that, she accepted an invitation from Country Music Radio Nashville, to produce and present a weekly program that focussed on Australian content for their international listening audience.
So in 2011, SHOWCASE AUSTRALIA was born and since then, the popular program has been syndicated world-wide, online and terrestrially.

Her Story
Born in Copenhagen Denmark, raised in Australia, Connie Kis Andersen began learning the banjolin at the age of eight.
By the time she was eleven years old, Connie Kis had already performed at eisteddfods in Sydney and as guest of Australian Country Music legend Slim Dusty, when his show came to Bourke in New South Wales, the town where her family had settled at the time.
Given her migrant background and hard work ethic, pursuing a full time career in music was never really a consideration.
So as a young adult soon to enter the workforce, Connie Kis rolled up her sleeves, studied hard and received a double degree in Psychology and Economics from the University of New South Wales.
A haircut and a real job later, Connie Kis found herself working in the field of Special Education in Sydney for two years before moving to Perth, Western Australia where she continued to teach children with multiple disabilities in Education Support.
Around the same time, she began to pursue a part-time career in music, her first love.
Over the years she took on roles as lead singer in various Perth bands and duos - the longest existing one being Kis'n Tel for well over 10 years.
This outstanding artist's performances have seen her honoured to be the support act in Perth for Don McLean, Kasey Chambers and BJ Thomas.
It's also taken Connie Kis on press tours in Scandinavia, Europe and numerous radio and solo promotional tours of the USA, including performances in Nashville, TN at CMA's Fan Fest, Sounds Australia Showcase at the Americana Fest, The Blue Bird Cafe, Midnight Jamboree and Nashville Cowboy Church to name only just a few.
A big believer in the adage; 'A rising tide lifts all boats', she has contributed to her industry for many years - not only through producing Showcase Australia weekly since 2011 on an honorary basis, but by serving her local industry with dedication.
She has enjoyed positions as Board member and President of WAM (West Australian Music Industry Association), held seats on the funding board at what was then known as the W.A. Department of Culture and the Arts. She was also appointed as the Acting C.E.O. of Multicultural Arts W.A. organisation (a.k.a. KULCHA) during its re-structure. Sadly, KULCHA is now defunct.
As well, she developed and taught eight-week courses in vocal production at Tertiary and Further Education (TAFE) and workshops at the University of Western Australia (UWA) Summer School for several years.
And so, with multiple awards, six albums, one E.P and several hit songs to her credit, including that coveted #1 spot on the Australian Country Songs Chart, Connie Kis Andersen's reputation as one of Western Australia’s finest, most talented and dedicated singer-songwriters precedes her wherever she tours and teaches.
Having faced and overcome some of the challenging twists and turns that life’s highway has taken her down, this inspiring woman continues to follow her true calling and shines as an example for others to never lose sight of their dreams.
Connie Kis reveals her deep belief in self and purpose through all that she does - she is a true stylist, not to be missed.
