She's already conquered most of the planet and now she's poised to win over the states! With her single, Gone Wishin' in successful release in the USA, indie Australian singer/songwriter, Connie Kis Andersen will perform on February 18 for the title of Western Australian Country Music Female Vocalist 2006 at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival. The artist was named a finalist in for the title during an earlier judging process. The next morning, she'll be on stage again for an acoustic set before presenting a workshop on protective vocal technique. Held in the Family Stop Centre in Boyup Brook, this 2-hour workshop is an intensive overview of the popular courses she teaches at UWA Extension and TAFE and is an essential for singers of any genre and/or professional speakers. Fast forward to February 22nd and Connie Kis will be raising the flag for Western Australian original country music by showcasing at the WAMI Festival. She'll perform at The Shed in Northbridge, Perth with her 6 piece band, 'The Hired Guns'. Playing a cocktail of self-penned original country music from her CD, Gone Wishin', the band was chosen as the evening's closing act. Urban Cowboy, Rod Grljusich joins Connie Kis as a special guest to sing a duet with her.
Ms Andersen was recently named to a third
2-year term on the Arts Development Panel and the Contemporary Music Panel
